About Jordyn Figur

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Animal and Veterinary Biosciences B.S. with two certificates in Business Management and Life Science Communications. Over the past year, I've had the opportunity to conduct research, testing whether a novel corn pericarp extract preparation technique can act as a cost-effective alternative feed additive to combat oxidative stress in broilers and promote broiler performance. Through this experience, I’ve gained an immense amount of knowledge about poultry, research techniques, and communicating scientific results. I am an Undergraduate Facilitator for Animal Science 101/102 where I will be conducting hands-on labs, grading term papers, and facilitating lectures with Animal Science students. I work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine's Large Animal Hospital as a Barn Crew member where I enforce and practice biosafety protocols, handle animals, and maintain the hospital facilities.
