About Jorg Broschek
I am a Professor of Political Science and Laurier Research Chair in Multilevel Governance at Wilfrid Laurier University. Between 2013 and 2023, I held the Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Comparative Federalism and Multilevel Governance. I have more than 20 years of experience studying institutional and policy change in federal systems, with a particular focus on North America and Western Europe (including the European Union). My work connects research in the field of political economy, comparative federalism and multilevel governance. I am currently particularly interested in how multilevel governance shapes transformative change in trade and transportation policy. I am also a Fellow at the Balsillie School of International Affairs where I served (2022-2024) as the Coordinator of the Waterloo Political Economy Group (WatPEG) and a Board member and Secretary-Treasurer (2021-2024) of the Canadian Political Science Association (CPSA). I received my doctorate (DPhil) in political science from the University of Augsburg, Germany, in 2008.
