About Jorge Junquera

Industrial and Management Systems Engineer and Master in Aircraft Systems Integration. Industrial and management systems engineer certified by the University of South Florida. I spent four years in the United States obtaining an undergraduate degree. Meanwhile I was getting my degree, I worked on several projects and internships. My first project at the university was in the medicine industry given by the university hospital. I designed and 3-D printed a prototype of a medical device to be used in Laparoscopic surgery, or minimally invasive surgery. The device includes a motor, a cutter, water and air source through tubes, an inflatable bag and an outer case. Another project that I worked on during my last year as a student was at the VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Based on user experience, bed occupation and other parameters, I worked with a team of industrial engineers to design and develop a system to maximize efficiency of the use of the Workstation-On-Wheels on each hospital department. My experience during school includes an internship with a start-up company called Ardent & Bold where I mainly helped the owner with the launch of the company. I was responsible for searching new prospects and potential customers for the two lines of business, consulting and product development. I also worked as a industrial engineer intern at Just Grow, where I worked hand-to-hand with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to perfect Just Grows´ main product. I was in charge of prototypes, customer testing and providing feedback to developers. Now I am obtaining a Masters degree in Aircraft Systems Integration at the University of Carlos in Madrid, Spain. At the same time I am working as a Aircraft Systems Integration intern at Airbus Defense and Space. I am in the GCS (Ground Control Station) department of the UAVs (Unmanned Air Vehicles) of Airbus Defense and Space. My main hobbies are: Aviation and Aerospace. Physics research. Golf and music.
