About Jorge Ripoll

PhD in Physics from the UAM in pre- and post-doctoral stays in UPENN (USA), JRC (Italy), UCL (England), FORTH (Greece) and Harvard (USA). Fellow in Radiology at Harvard (2002) and Visiting Fellow at MGH-Harvard (2002-2007). Tenure track (2005-2008) and tenure research professor position (2008-2012) at Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (Greece). Visiting Professor at ETH (2010-2011), and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland)(2012). Since 2011 he has been teaching at the UC3M Department of Bioengineering, as an adjunct professor, with full incorporation as Visiting Professor at UC3M in September 2012. Tenure position (Asoc. Prof.) at UC3M since Aug. Co-founder of the European Society for Molecular Imaging (ESMI) and member of the Executive Committee of ESMI Member. Principal investigator 7 European projects. He has directed 7 doctoral theses being defended in the last two UC3M. Author of over 90 articles in refereed journals, has given more than 30 invited talks in academic centers and more than 35 invited talks at conferences, including a "Keynote lecture" in the CMIST Industry Day 2011, Zurich, and a "Distinguished Seminar" at the CNIO (2014). Author of the book "Principles of Diffuse Light Propagation", published by World Scientific Press (2012). Inventor of 10 patents, consultant Perkin Elmer (2010-2012, 2016-), Visen Medical (2003-2010), Scanco (2004) and Genex Tech.(2002). In July 2013 he co-founded as Partner Sponsor 4D-Nature Imaging Consulting S.L, company dedicated to the in-vivo optical imaging.
