Background
About Jorge Roa
Graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Policy from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). Through my four years of study, I gained multidisciplinary problem-solving skills in the public and private spheres. I currently work in the Decision Analysis Project in Uncertain Contexts (PADeCI). This research work has allowed me to acquire quantitative and qualitative skills, so I have a deep understanding and experience coding in R Software, Python, STATA, and Tableau for data manipulation and other purposes like geocodification, survival analysis, web scraping, and web crawler. I have participated in the design of survey programming with SurveyToGo, as well as the impact evaluation of research projects that have to do with multiple problems. Likewise, I have worked with ArcGis, ArcMap, and GIS software for data analysis in a determined space. In the context of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in Mexico, I have had the opportunity to use survival models to estimate the mortality risk in different populations around Mexico.Currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Data Science for Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin, I am deeply invested in the intersection of data and policy. My experience in data analysis and research is being honed to focus on public policy issues, aiming to use data-driven insights to drive change.I consider myself extremely responsible and committed to his work and the activities delegated to him; I believe that teamwork and networks are necessary to obtain more efficient results and a multidisciplinary vision. Remarkably, my professional and personal interest is to apply the collection and manipulation of all types of data to be analyzed and used to improve decision-making in terms of public and private policy.
