Background

About Jorge Salinas

I build and lead engineering organizations in regulated financial services. Over 17 years, I have worked across clearinghouse operations at CME Group, institutional payments at JPMorgan Chase, diversified asset management at Mesirow, and high-availability crypto trading systems at Gemini. My teams own the systems that move money, manage risk, and keep markets running: matching engines, order management, settlement, ledger, and regulatory reporting. I have launched revenue products under IPO timelines, unified siloed engineering teams across 13 business divisions, and maintained platform reliability through significant organizational change.I have built a repeatable approach to engineering leadership: stabilize operations, reduce noise, automate what you can, and unlock capacity for product delivery. I have applied this model at three companies, each time in regulated environments with strict availability requirements and no room for error.Currently, I lead U.S. trading systems engineering at Gemini, where my team delivered three major product launches supporting the company's $3.3B Nasdaq IPO.I am interested in trading systems, fintech, payments, and crypto. especially where engineering rigor, regulatory fluency, and product-minded leadership intersect.
