About Jorgen Andersen

My employment across a varied and vast range of industries has enabled me to build up an extensive skill and knowledge base of WHS and its application to industry. As a part of my wood machining lecturer duties, I assessed the safe operation of the woodworking machines and, in doing so; I developed a broad based knowledge of fault finding. My current WHS (OHS) duties, which demand risk assessing machines and development of SOPs and JSAs, requires extensive knowledge of wood machining and guarding. My duties as an OHS representative for TafeSA included the risk-assessment of wood machining processes and the development of safe working practices. Part of my role as a wood machinist and my early duties at Marleston Tafe was to maintain all woodworking machines. This involved changing saw blades, machine maintenance, cutter changes, breakdown maintenance and risk assessing machines and developing guards for various applications.
