About Jorie Doster

Originally from Georgia, I’m enjoying living in another state with rich geographical diversity from the mountains to the coast. I received my undergraduate degree from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and came to North Carolina by way of Philadelphia. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling and Master of Divinity degrees from Wake Forest University.I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for LGBTQIA+ folks to safely explore and express their identity, especially clients with religious trauma, as well as clients navigating weight stigma and body image concerns. I strive to work with clients in a warm, collaborative, and thoughtful manner, adapting to each client’s unique needs.As a counselor, I believe that relationships are the foundation for change and healing, and not just our relationships with each other, but also with ourselves. When our mind-body connection is disrupted, our connections with others and the world around us are affected as well. Through compassion, empathy, and non-judgment, we can heal these connections.
