About Joris Lambrecht

My research focus is improving command interfaces for upper-limb myoelectric prostheses. Specific areas of work include: lead development of a virtual reality simulator for testing novel command strategies and assessing amputees, lead development of hardware and software components for wireless interfacing between an implanted sensor system and a prosthesis, bench testing of the implanted system, reporting to funding agencies, strategic and tactical planning, and dissemination of information in national meetings and journals. I am part of the Cleveland FES Center, a group of researchers, clinicians, and engineers who work closely together to address the needs of individuals with spinal cord injuries, stroke, limb loss, and other neurological or muscular skeletal impairments through the use of functional electrical stimulation and implanted devices.
