About Joris Tol

I'm a dedicated and passionate advertising creative, aiming to create impactful work. With broad experience in marketing and communications, I've primarily worked for leading international clients such as Heineken, KPN, Volvo, Volkswagen, Philips, Mars, KLM, Vodafone, Adidas, and Unilever. After graduating from the Willem de Kooning Academy, I started as a junior creative at BBDO Amsterdam in 2008. In 2010, me and my teammate won a GOLD Lion with 'Mars Messages'. After winning several other awards, we moved to Brussels for a year, working for Jupiler, Martini, and Hyundai. Returning to Amsterdam in 2012, we joined DDB & Tribal. In 2013, we created 'Volkswagen Das Hund', the 2nd most viewed ad on YouTube in the Netherlands. We also pushed creative boundaries for the iconic Dutch brands KLM and Heineken. Our journey continued at Ogilvy Amsterdam, where in 2021, our 'Volvo Lifesaver' initiative helped make Ogilvy the Most Awarded Dutch Agency at Cannes Lions. Since joining Dentsu in 2021, the agency became a finalist for 'Agency of the Year' in the Netherlands twice, winning in 2023. In 2024, we won a Cannes Lions GRAND PRIX for 'Piece of me' for our client KPN. We also secured the prestigious Dutch Ministry of Defense account, further solidifying Dentsu Creative's position as a leading agency in the Netherlands. Throughout my career, my work has been featured in leading trade press such as Contagious and Creativity Online, and awarded at D & AD, Cannes Lions, the WEBBYS, Eurobest, Effies, Dutch Art Directors Club, and many other festivals.
