About Jorja Bentley

Jorja Bentley (she/her) is currently working as a Community of Practice Coordinator at Brotherhood of St Laurence, running the State Community of Practice and Trainings for all practitioners working within Better Futures, the State Leaving Care program. She works closely with the Transition from Care Team at the Department of Families and Housing as well as Youth Expert Advisors from CREATE, the National Voice of Young People with Care Experience. Prior to this, she worked as a crisis homelessness youth support worker at Melbourne City Mission and while finishing her Master of Theatre Writing at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). She has past experience as a Project Coordinator at the Wellbeing and Resilience Centre at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute. Jorja completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of South Australia, with her final year first-class thesis focusing on the measurement of the positive psychology intervention of resilience training. Jorja has previously run a positive psychology and wellbeing blog 'One & Only' and engages in annual fundraising for 'Liptember', a mental health organisation, and has a background in research, youth support work and retail, as well as producing theatre, and social justice advocacy.
