About Jorja Hunter

I am currently completing my fourth year of Speech Pathology at the ACU Brisbane campus. I have been developing key knowledge and skills which will prepare me for entering the workforce as a qualified Speech Pathologist in 2026. I am passionate about working with clients and their families (across the lifespan) within various contexts of health to facilitate improved quality of life. Placement experience- April-November 2023: Paediatric School Based (Assessment & Intervention)- July 2024: Adult Rehab - Clinic Based Assessment and Intervention via in-person and Telehealth modes of therapy (including stroke rehab, Aphasia, Dysphagia, AoS, Parkinson's, Fluency, Voice, Dysarthria)- April 2025: Mt Isa Rural Hospital, Health Clinic and School Based 10-week placement (Mixed Caseload) My experiences both within the classroom and on placements as a Speech Pathology student have been insightful, reinforcing my passion for the degree, supporting my development in client-centredness, communication skills and team capacity. The diverse opportunities within the Speech Pathology Profession excite me for the potential direction of a positively impactful and rewarding career. I am motivated to integrate evidence-based practices to support language, literacy, and cognitive-communication development. Over the past 5-years I have been involved as a club Netball coach. I have coached girls between the ages on 12-18 with different levels of skill and knowledge of the game. Through this role, I have developed my capacity to develop and maintain the girls skill level, understanding and motivation for Netball. Current coaching accreditation level: Development Coach I am currently employed as an Admin staff within a Logistics company at the Port of Brisbane. I have previous experience as Bar and Waitstaff in a busy Hotel. Through my experience in hospitality, administration, coaching and university (student), I have developed my ability in communication with people in various contexts, maintaining respectful relationships. I have a high attention to detail with a dedicated work ethic; I am eager to continue to develop my skillsets and knowledge through varying life-experiences and connections. Throughout my life experience I have had significant opportunities to collaborate with colleagues, teammates and supervisors within various contexts. I am a team oriented person and find great benefits in working with others towards a common goal. I am eager to develop connections with other professionals and explore opportunities for meaningful contributions in the field.
