About Jorma Hintikka

Coordinating and further developing the research group "Production technology" of 22 people, focusing to applied research with intensive industry cooperation in the following topics: Robotics (Industrial robots, simulation, mobile robots, drones, autonomous agriculture machines, cobots), AI`s added value applications in production technology, quality leadership, LEAN and production simulation, ERP systems from agile ones to SAP, domain development, technology transfer, 3D measuring and laser scanning, 3D modelling, 3D printing, welding, laser processing with robotics, cladding, metallographics, analysing of metals, additive manufacturing by robots, AR in maintenance, Industry 4.0, wood production technology with coating technology laboratory circulating economy analyses. Until 2/18: After a period of utilizing national R&D fundings in Finland during past ten years I have been focusing mostly to the EU fundings. I have experience of programmes like Leonardo da Vinci, Interreg IV C, Artemis/ECSEL, CelticPlus, Interreg Nord, Botnia Atlantica and Horizon 2020. Recently successfull partnerships has been carried on e.g. in the Artemis project called e-GOTHAM and in the ECSEL projects called DEWI and SCOTT. The latest experiences in H2020 have been gathered while acting as the coordinator and consortium creator in the following proposals: the MEMEX proposal (GV-8-2015: Electric vehicles’ enhanced performance and integration into the transport system and the grid), the CLT-Pro proposal (wood product technology, NMBP-06-2017), the CARIM proposal (FoF-12-2017: ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS)) and the IRASE proposal (ICT-25-2016-2017: Advanced Robot Capabilities Research and Take-up). I have strong skills especially in bringing SMEs into EU projects e.g. in the above-mentioned programmes. The latest experience in this field was acting as a writer on behalf of the CTO of the participating SME in the recent call SMEInst-11-2016-2017 (deadline was 1st June 2017).
