About Jory Simard

I’m a soon-to-be Alberta lawyer with a JD/MBA, a strong business foundation, and a work ethic shaped by years of real-life experience. Before entering the legal profession, I spent four years working in a law firm, gaining hands-on exposure to client service, file management, and real-world legal problem-solving. I also completed my Bachelor of Commerce with distinction at the University of Alberta, majoring in Business Economics and Law, and later returned to earn both my Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration. Along the way, I’ve tackled everything from complex legal research to multi-layered case analyses, startup consulting projects, and client-focused presentations, learning how to think through problems from both a legal and commercial lens. Outside the classroom, I founded and operate J.D. Entertainment, a 360° video booth company, which teaches me how to manage a business, build client relationships, and adapt quickly. I learned how to lead a team during my time as a general maintenance lead, how to take direction and show up early while working general labour jobs in my teens, and how to make a strong first impression as a custom suit consultant, helping professionals refine their wardrobes. Each role taught me something different: how to follow, how to lead, how to listen, how to sell, and how to show up with consistency. I played competitive hockey growing up, and that experience taught me how to compete with composure, support a team, and push through setbacks. These days, I stay active through skiing and golf, always chasing improvement, on and off the course. I’ll be called to the Alberta Bar in 2026 and look forward to working with clients across a range of legal and business matters. I’m especially excited to bring a practical, business-minded perspective to the practice of law, grounded in lived experience, academic rigour, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed.
