Background
About Jos Dudley
My career spans a number of years teaching experience in two countries. I started teaching in the NSW public sector in 1986 as a temporary teacher. This was a great way to gain experience and to observe a variety schools and their organisation. My first permanent teaching position in 1989 at Westmead PS. I was initially the RFF teacher working on Literacy and PDH with a focus on student wellbeing then Yr1 teacher. In 1992 I relocated to the UK with my husband. I was able to secure employment in a JMI Cof E school teaching Yr 6 and then Yr1. The school had a great focus on pastoral care. In 1994 I went on maternity leave to have our first daughter and then stayed on leave until out third daughter went to school in 2002.In 2002, I took up casual and temporary work at Beauty Point Primary school and then temporary blocks at Middle Harbour Primary School. At MHPS I was on a job share for a number of years. These were great collaborative and insightful working years with passionate, incredibly caring and hardworking educators. My role expanded to include Learning Support and ESL teaching on the days I was not Kindergarten Job Share. Feeling the need to learn more about the new roles I had taken on I enrolled in a Grad Cert ESL. I continued this to a MEd in Tesol with a focus on Literacy. I completed this by the end of 2011 and graduated with Distinction. In 2011 I also started a new role as Year 3 Teacher at Roseville College. This meant a move from the Public to the Private sector. In 2012 I was asked to return to teaching ES1. I have been involved in PD's in Learning support. My skills have been further developedin Inquiry Based learning within the PYP framework. In recent years II have loved being involved in Peer Coaching by heading up a Professional Learning Group (PLG). This year my role expand to fill a temporary position and shared the PLG coordinators role. Supporting teachers and teacher wellbeing is a role I became passionate about.
