Background

About Jose Galvan

As a social studies teacher I have collaborated with teachers to create our American history curriculum, led the effort to establish Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in our school, and strongly advocated for the creation of a school-wide Response to Intervention (RtI) program. In addition, as a member of our district’s Future Ready Team I work extensively with our superintendent and teacher leaders to prioritize and initiate improvements in the academic programs at each school in our PreK - 12th grade district. Outside of the classroom, as a high school and club soccer coach, I have extensive experience in increasing turnout, creating development paths, and building the reputation of a soccer program. I am highly motivated, conscientious and have a pragmatic sense of responsibility. I believe that I can be a valuable member of an inspiring and hopeful school community that seeks to improve education for all stakeholders.
