About Jose Gimenez

I am a Security Administrator with a 10-year experience in the IT industry seeking contractor work within Network Security and Cyber Security. My primary focus and experience are to secure and protect network infrastructures from internal and external threats by configuring and managing network devices such as Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco switches, and performing routine vulnerability assessments. I have configured and maintained a home lab environment where I perform various tests (will not detail here for obvious reasons: integrity :)). I have recently attended a SANS training for GCIH where I achieved a winning lead spot within their SANS Netwars Capture The Flag (CTF) event. It was a great experience learning new techniques and tactics to better my pentesting and incident handling knowledge and toolset. I have a huge passion for what I do within the cybersecurity realm that it brings joy to share that knowledge and experience with others who have similar interest and passion. Even if you are not in the field, basic knowledge of technology does bring efficiency which increases productivity and ease with work or personal experience. So even if you have a small amount of interest to learn the basics of network and cybersecurity, I am more than happy to share my knowledge with you.
