About Jose Tlaxca

Ph.D. Biomedical Engineer with broad academic and industrial research and development experience in ultra-pure fluid heating, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, combination product device and medical device class Enjoy tackling tough and challenging problems in a focused team. I am currently employed at STAAR Surgical designing the next generation implantable ocular lens. As a scientist at MedImmune (AstraZeneca's biologics arm) in the drug delivery and device development group, I supported our growing pipeline with a wide range of medical devices. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Heateflex Corporation, I was involved with multiple projects from concept to commercialization, solving complex, multivariate technical and heating system challenges in the semiconductor industry domain. I worked closely with vendors, customers, design development, testing and manufacturing. I am confident that my unique combination of experiences as a doctorate-level researcher, a patent grantee, experience with scientific publications and 24 years of combined practical industrial experience as an Engineer and Scientist would allow me to be a positive contributor in a focused team.
