About Josee Giberson

I am an MBA student set to graduate from Colorado State University in May of 2026. My career began in tax and accounting, first in tax resolution before transitioning into tax preparation. I have a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the Colorado State University Global Campus and maintain my Enrolled Agent certification.In my early career in tax resolution, I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills. My work involved working closely with clients, investigating their financial situation and completing financial breakdowns, negotiating with tax agencies on behalf of my clients, and, once I was promoted to a Senior Associate role, managing my own books of clients and an assistant. This work involved data analysis, client billing, researching laws and regulations, and developing client relationships. In this role, I developed a lot of skills such as leadership and communication. I later moved into tax preparation, multiple filing seasons working with both individuals and small to medium businesses. I answered client questions, explained regulations, and worked with tight deadlines. For the past year, I’ve been working specifically with the nonprofit sector. This allowed me to complete trainings not just in nonprofit tax preparation, but nonprofit management and financial planning as well. I have worked with trial balances, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, firm-specific workpapers, and a variety of tax forms. Through my MBA program, I’ve gained an understanding of how organizations align their strategy, operations, and financial stewardship with their mission. The coursework emphasized leadership and decision-making. I’m grateful that this education has helped me make connections between financial management and mission-driven work. I strongly value curiosity and continuous learning. Ethical business practices and social outreach are both very important to me. I am passionate about the work I perform and creating collaborative relationships with the clients and team I work with.
