I am an Assistant Professor in Gastrointestinal Health at Wageningen University, holding a dual appointment that bridges food (Food Quality and Design) and Nutrition (Division of Human Nutrition and Health). My group investigates food-gut microbiome interactions, paying particular attention to microbial metabolites/lipids, and determines the biological role of those compounds on the intestine, particularly concerning cell-cell junctions and cellular metabolism.
