About Joseph Bauer

I am currently working in terminal operations at the Colton Light Products distribution terminal in Southern California. We are responsible for the safe storage and daily distribution of nearly 1.5 million gallons of light products. I possess extensive knowledge and experience in Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental policies and procedures, loading rack operations, maintenance and troubleshooting skills, pipeline receipt procedures, daily terminal balancing, and customer service skills. My experience in the energy industry began as an electrical welding technician working in many types of industrial energy facilities throughout the U.S. and around the globe in countries such as Europe, India, Canada, and Venezuela. We would conduct emergency repairs, maintenance, turnarounds, and construction in oil refineries, paper mills, coal-generating plants, and nuclear generating plants. During my Army career, I have served a tour in Operation Desert Shield/Storm as an infantryman with the 2/327 Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. I have also served tours in Berlin, Germany and Hickam AFB Honolulu, HI where I was part of a unique Army Unit; the Central Identification Laboratory Hawaii, known as CILHI. This unit was the most rewarding experience in my Army career. With this unit, our team has recovered the remains of U.S. service members in countries such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Europe, to name a few. After my Honorable Discharge from the Army, I took advantage of the Montgomery G.I. Bill to attend school at the Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, MN where I received my AAS degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance. I went back to school and received my BS in Business Management with a certificate in Operations Management.
