About Joseph Blake Evans

In May 2013, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University in three years with my BA in Communication. Upon graduating, I began pursuing my Masters in Public Administration. I accepted a graduate assistantship that was offered to me by Dr. Mark Wilson, Director of Civic Learning Initiatives for Auburn’s College of Liberal Arts (CLA), and I have worked under his supervision since that time. While working as a graduate assistant, I have strengthened relationships between the CLA and many community partners, which consist of both nonprofit and government entities. I have learned the importance of effectively communicating, managing, and ultimately connecting community partners with each other to maximize resources while promoting and improving the CLA’s image. I also have experience searching and applying for grants, a process that is often essential to success for many programs and activities. Additionally, my experiences with the Election Center (National Association of Election Officials) indicate that I can contribute to large organizations. Through professional presentations at the Center’s regional and national conferences around the nation, I have exhibited high-quality presentation skills. Furthermore, I have conducted research as an independent consultant for the Center to assist them with a project for a large election jurisdiction. These experiences demonstrate that I can succeed in high-pressure, professional environments. Finally, my past experiences show that I can successfully organize and manage multiple duties simultaneously. On multiple occasions, I have prioritized my duties as a graduate assistant, an instructor, a student, and as an intern or consultant to achieve positive outcomes in each of these roles. I will graduate with my Masters in May, and I am excited about the opportunities that will follow. I would enjoy the opportunity to discuss my skills and experience in greater detail.
