Joseph Blozis is a retired New York City Police Detective Sergeant who served the city of New York for 28 years. 22 years within the Forensic Investigations Division including 13 years as the senior sergeant within the Crime Scene Unit. His duties included the supervision for the search, collection, preservation, and documentation of physical and trace evidence at crime scenes. Detective Sergeant Blozis conducted forensic investigations in excess of 2,500 crime scenes including more than homicide investigations. He presently is a contracted consultant providing services for federal agencies and global DNA companies. He is an instructor, lecturer, and subject matter expert who has developed training curriculum for the United States Department of State’s Antiterrorism Assistance Program for Terror Related Crime Scene Investigations. He has also been selected as the training coordinator and lead instructor for the International Association of Chiefs of Police Comprehensive Crime Scene Course.
