About Joseph Bonacci

I am currently a Junior in college pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Journalism from the University of Utah. I have worked at Contender Bicycles since April 2020, and have taken on a variety of responsibilities. I have worked the sales floor and the service counter, working closely with customers has taught me valuable people skills as well as learning how to deal with angry people. Contender introduced me to the field of Journalism by giving me the chance to write articles for their blog and assist in video creation.I am currently the Journalism Intern for the United States Biathlon Team where I write press releases and season updates for Team USA. I work closely with their Director of Marketing to provide input, help plan, and ensure that all releases go out on time. Throughout high school I volunteered with FCYD Camp UTADA to plan summer camps for Children with Diabetes. This taught me scheduling, budgeting, problem solving, and organizational skills as well as providing me boots on the ground experience.I worked as a Nordic ski coach and Mountain bike coach for the Utah Nordic Alliance. I worked closely with kids aged from 7-17 to teach them foundational skills for both sports. This taught me adaptability, as each kid responded differently to my methods of coaching so being able to adapt to be the best coach possible was useful.
