About Joseph Brown

Proud 3rd-year honors undergraduate student at Eastern Michigan University. I am pursuing a degree in both psychology and criminal justice/criminology. I am a research assistant within the Department of Psychology. My current research interests are in affective, anxiety, and psychotic disorders as well as community psychology. A grateful recipient of awards and scholarships from the psychology department, criminal justice/criminology department, and Eastern Michigan University honors college. Along with my academics, I have gained clinical experience in mental health care with pediatric/adolescent and adult populations in outpatient and in-patient settings. I have come to familiarize myself with and maintain several different hard and soft skills through this work. Apart from paid work, I actively seek volunteer opportunities that provide relevant experience and community involvement. I believe in giving back to the community and contributing to the well-being of society. The unhoused population crisis and other human and civil rights issues are all causes that I will continuously pursue.
