Background

About Joseph Cox

I am a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida, specializing in machine learning for biomedical imaging and wearable sensor data. My research has focused on developing large-scale transformer-based models for MRI analysis, as well as creating algorithms to detect and quantify alcohol consumption using transdermal biosensors. With hands-on experience in Python, PyTorch, MATLAB, and high-performance computing, I enjoy building scalable, reproducible pipelines that bridge advanced AI with real-world healthcare applications. Beyond technical development, I have experience mentoring students, presenting research at national conferences, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. I am passionate about applying AI and data-driven methods to improve diagnostics, monitoring, and personalized medicine. I am eager to bring my expertise in imaging, machine learning, and data science into industry or research roles that drive innovation in healthcare technology.
