About Joseph Cross

I have over 10-years experience working with Rex Proctor & Partners as a Building Surveyor. I graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a first class BSc Hons degree in Building Surveying. I am also a qualified Asbestos Surveyor with a P402 qualification which covers surveying and sampling strategies for asbestos in buildings. My qualifications also include a BTEC National Diploma and a HNC in Construction and the Built Environment both awarded with Distinction. During the last 10-years I have gained experience in various areas of Building Surveying, Including: completing detailed site/building surveys, inspections, reporting for property acquisitions, Snagging, Building condition surveys (including the diagnosis and analysis of building defects) PPM surveys, clerk of works and quality monitoring. I am also an experienced party wall surveyor working on behalf of the building owner and adjoining owners of property. I have also acted on behalf of Landlords and Tenants, preparing and negotiating dilapidation claims. I have more recently gained more experience in the Project Management of new-build and refurbishment projects from inception to completion and the contract management and administration of cyclical, planned and day-to-day maintenance contracts. This has involved liaison with customers, tenants, board members, tenants’ committees and working parties. I have also acted as the NEC Supervisor on both the 3 and 4 contracts on numerous schemes. More recently I have gained my drone pilots licence. My aim is to assist clients make their buildings assets and not liabilities. I have an in-depth knowledge of Dilapidations and Contract Administration.
