About Joseph Dougherty

Baseball has always been more than just a sport to me. It has shaped who I am. From playing in college to now working behind the scenes, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for both the physical and analytical sides of the game. This perspective allows me to understand the sport from multiple angles and contribute meaningfully to the success of an organization. I’m currently working as a Baseball Operations Intern, where I’ve been able to build on my resume with hands-on experience in scouting, player development, and strategy. This opportunity has also given me the chance to familiarize myself with technologies like Trackman, Rapsodo, Pointstreak, and Blast Motion, and I enjoy combining the data with real-world experience to support better outcomes on and off the field. Before starting my working experience in baseball, I spent a couple of years in management roles outside the industry. That time helped me grow as a leader and taught me how to adapt quickly in different situations. I believe these skills will translate well in high-pressure, team-driven environments. Currently, I’m focused on continuing to grow within the game and building up my portfolio with scouting reports, and independent projects. Long term, my goal is to earn a leadership role in a front office such as General Manager or President of Baseball Operations where I can help shape the future of an organization.
