About Joseph Edelstein

I have helped companies and individuals acquire hundreds of patents during my career and look forward to helping acquire and enforce many more. My work focuses on all aspects of intellectual property with an emphasis on patent preparation, prosecution, and opinion work as well as portfolio management. A large portion of my practice encompasses working with foreign (mainly European) companies to file and prosecute U.S. patent applications that are national stage entries or continuations of PCT applications and/or based on foreign priority. Example technological fields where I draft and prosecute patent applications include: medical implants, medical diagnostic systems, surgical instruments, glass compositions, pharmaceutical packaging, agricultural equipment, heavy machinery, and batteries.My approach for every case is to first understand my client's business objectives in addition to the technology and tailor a strategy to achieve these objectives. My business philosophy is that great results do not need to come at a great cost and that starts with transparency and honesty throughout representation.
