About Joseph Erwin

I am an Operations Research Engineer and a Data Analyst with a master's degree in operations research engineering from the University of Southern California. I combine my engineering knowledge and data analytics skills to solve complex problems and optimize operations in various domains and industries. I have hands-on experience in data-driven modeling, algorithm development, and process automation, using various programming languages and tools, such as Python, SQL, AMPL, and JavaScript. I co-developed a command-line tool to validate file integrity for media being ingested from outside vendors during my internship at Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. I also developed and implemented machine learning models for sports analytics, demonstrating my ability to leverage data to inform strategic decisions. Beyond my technical proficiency, I also possess strong leadership and collaboration skills, which I honed through my involvement in various extracurricular activities, such as directing a trombone section in the USC Marching Band and founding the USC Battlebots Team. These experiences taught me how to work effectively with diverse teams, manage projects efficiently, and think creatively. I am passionate about applying my analytical skills and engineering knowledge to projects and initiatives that benefit from data-driven insights and engineering expertise.
