KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS: • Leaned the USAA Federal Savings Bank’s loan loss reserving process, reducing the SLO (service level objective) for reserve requirement recommendations from 20 days to 12 days that resulted in the re-purposing of 494 man-hours to more value-add activities (analyzing credit portfolio losses). • Completely decomposed USAA’s credit card pricing structure to 16 major systems, 72 system components, and 134 systems interactions (manual and automated) to create a full understanding of the complexity of bringing new cards to market and CC pricing changes. • Led a team of three analysts in building 2nd line of defense credit loss models for each of USAA Federal Savings Bank’s credit portfolios (consumer lending, credit card, mortgage, and home equity). • Conducted a complete subprime portfolio gap analysis for the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) transition including risk management and controls, customer relationship planning, profitability and pricing, information systems, servicing and collections (and re-aging), competition, management, staffing and training, and underwriting subprime credits. • Advised on and analyzed the OCC stress testing governance process development, resulting in the OCC’s decision to allow federal banks additional time to submit scenarios. • Developed and wrote curriculum for two of the University of British Columbia’s Project Management and Business Analyst graduate certificate programs that included three courses: Project Management, Management, Leadership, and Team Building, and Business Communications. • Reorganized and re-purposed JPMorgan’s Global Credit Risk Management Operations (GCRMO) PMO operations in NY, increasing project capacity by over 400%. • Off-shored GCMRO’s security access functions to Bangalore, India (106 credit software applications and worldwide users) resulting in an annual savings of $88K. • Pioneered a digital cable product/service that resulted in over $20 in incremental cash flow per household per month with less than 5% churn, an ROI unheard of in its day.
