About Joseph Greco

Writer/director Joseph Greco’s first feature film CANVAS starred Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden and Emmy Award winner Joe Pantoliano. Canvas won the Alice in the City prize at the Rome Film Festival and was heralded by the late Roger Ebert, who selected the film for screening at his own EbertFest. The New York Times called it “a movie that rings emotionally true, with an inner core of integrity and goodness.” Canvas was released theatrically by Screen Media, and on DVD by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film is currently available on Apple TV. Born and raised in Hollywood, Florida, and a graduate of the Florida State Film School, Greco’s first movie was the acclaimed short film LENA’S SPAGHETTI, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. He is a director member of the DGA and The Actors Studio, and learned the movie business under the mentorship of the late George Hickenlooper and Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron, while working at Lightstorm Entertainment. He is a sailor and resides with his wife and two dogs in Los Angeles. Greco is represented by attorneys Paul Mayersohn and Jamie Coghill.
