About Joseph Jorgenson

I am a Technology Engineering student in the Honors College at Michigan State University, set to be the first ever graduate under that major. I currently have an internship with Fraunhofer USA CMW (Coatings and Diamond Technologies Division), where I work as a project engineer. I have significant hands-on technical experience from my prior job as a roller coaster mechanic at Six Flags Great America, as well as research experience through Argonne National Laboratory. At Fraunhofer, I am responsible for assisting with the maintenance of Chemical and Physical Vapor Deposition machines, as well as the overall laboratory infrastructure. I am surrounded by groundbreaking research, and I love solving problems and making things possible for our incredible research teams. At Michigan State, I enjoy taking design-intensive courses, and am highly proficient in Siemens NX. I am also interested in computation, automation, and advanced materials. I play trombone in the Spartan Marching Band and Spartan Brass, our two athletics bands. Traveling with the teams and watching the Spartans play is nothing short of a privilege.
