About Joseph Key

In the summer of 2017 I graduated with a BA Degree in Joint Politics and History, achieving a First Class grade for my Dissertation. I have a keen interest in the study of History and of current political events as exhibited throughout my academic studies. For the duration of my time at University I was an intern at the award-winning Wilberforce Institute, assisting in conducting research which contributed to the excellent work done by the Institute itself. Work with this organisation culminated in my role in the inaugural Wilberforce World Freedom Summit in September 2017. At this renowned event academics, business leaders and politicians alike came together to discuss the issues of Modern Day Slavery in a series of debates and lectures over the course of two days. Throughout my University life I have taken advantage of numerous opportunities in which I have become involved with the War Studies Society, taking a leading role in organising numerous events which included; guest lectures, socials and events in coordination with the University's Politics Department. I also currently hold the position of Secretary with HUU Drama Society and am currently the director for this year's production of Shakespeare's Much Ado about Nothing. Furthermore, I was the Captain of the Politics Football Team in my Third Year, a role which involved organising matches and training sessions, and competing in the University's Football League. I now work for Hull's fabulous Museum service as a member of its front of house team.
