About Joseph Luongo
My objectives are to expose students to various forms of art and improve observational/drawing skills. It is equally important to provide an environment that encourages creativity and innovative problem solving. It is unfortunate that many for profit schools are graduating a generation of professional test takers who will discover that those skills have little value in the real world. In a time when educators are frequently demeaned and policy makers place too high a priority on test scores, I think it's crucial to promote critical thinking skills that are not so easily measured by a test. My teaching philosophy can be summed up in a quote from one of my favorite illustrators:"When all else fails, raise your standards."
