About Joseph Manning

Joe has spent the last decade and a half working in and around the fire service and fire protection industries. As a Fire Protection Consultant, he is passionate about the application of science and technology to reduce the risk of fire in today’s built environment. The same passions are also applied to in his role as active Firefighter. His current focus is on learning more about science, engineering, and the general understanding of all things related to fire development and fire suppression. Fire Protection Consultant Responsibilities:• Building and fire code consulting for the construction and building management industries • Assisting in fire protection engineering: analyses, calculations, reviews, etc• Consult with Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Building Owners, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction during the design and construction of buildings; meetings and presentations • Design guidance for fire sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke control, fire‐rated separations, means of egress, and other fire life safety features in buildings• Classification and evaluation of hazardous materials• Analysis of building plans• Fire modeling• Report writing (and other technical documentation)• On‐site inspections and observations; includes construction projects and existing buildings• Project management• Production and presentation of seminars for clients and Authorities Having JurisdictionSpecialties: Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Dynamics, Building Codes & Standards, Hazard Analysis, Fire Protection Systems
