About Joseph McCormick
Watching and cooking with my grandmother is how I got my start. At fourteen I started washing dishes in a local Italian restaurant. From there I enrolled at The French Culinary Institute in New York City. After three years working in high end hotels and restaurants, I returned to the Milwaukee area. As the Sous Chef at The Legend at Brandy Brook country club, my experience with quality banquets was reinforced, serving up to 350 guest multiple times. From there I traveled to France to work at La Fluer de Sel, in Brest. Returning home I began a five year career with the SURG Restaurant group in Milwaukee, the last two years spent overseeing their multi-unit banquet division. Currently my chef partner Kurt Fogle and I have opened Bass Bay Brew House, a Wisconsin themed supper club/ Brew House, with attached Banquet hall.
