About Joseph McQuoid

I believe that as educators it is our role to create opportunities for our students to grow holistically; we must guide students to engage in learning experiences both within and without of the classroom setting if we truly want students to develop into active, well-informed global citizens. As such, I believe the most fulfilling experiences come from having intentionally designed interactions with students that are catered to help them reflect upon and grow from their decisions and actions as members of a larger community. I have been working in higher education for the past decade, and am in my fifth year of student conduct and academic integrity work. Studying at an institution of higher learning provides students with opportunities for personal, professional, and social development that they cannot access anywhere else. It is here that students are first exposed to becoming independent decision makers, as well as given the chance to cooperate with thousands of other students to create a community of which they are proud. My goal as an educator is to assist students in taking advantage of these individual and interpersonal opportunities for reflection and growth to help prepare them to become active global citizens who can better understand one another and collectively better our world.
