About Joseph Mist

In my six years of IT industrial experience I gained experience in many activities in the software development process: implementing mathematical algorithms in code, designing and writing unit tests, executing system tests, updating software requirements, participating in code reviews, writing project documentation, and performing administrative duties in the project management office. During my PhD I designed, implemented, and evaluated mathematical algorithms for image enhancement that required heavy user input through a graphical user interface (GUI). I also had teaching duties and tutored introductory (university) level Mathematics and Physics and often had to address classes of over fifty students. Technologies/languages used in industry or studied at university: Java, Flutter, C, Python, Maple, MATLAB, Latex, SQL, Maven, IBM Rational Doors, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence. Other competencies developed: scientific writing, tutoring, and workplace instruction.
