About Joseph Monaghan
I am a graduate student at the University of Victoria (UVic) studying environmental analytical chemistry. Our group, the applied environmental research laboratories (AERL), is based at Vancouver Island University (VIU) where we develop direct mass spectrometry techniques for environmental analysis. I completed my undergraduate in April 2019 at VIU, majoring in cell and molecular biology and minoring in chemistry. I spent three summers working in the AERL funded by the NSERC USRA program.
