About Joseph Mudrak

Aerospace and software engineer with experience in modeling and simulation, particularly with flight vehicles. My first love and lifelong escape/obsession is motorsports.Comfortable with C/C++, Python, Matlab, Numerical Simulation, and Flight Dynamics. Have designed, implemented, and/or maintained numerical flight simulation models at various levels of fidelity from 3DOF to 6DOF. These models range from detailed 3DOF parachute models designed for sensitivity and error analysis, to user-controllable 6DOF fixed-wing aircraft flight models. M&S work has been primarily in C or C++, typically working within an existing framework. Also in the process of learning web development for hobby work, including Django, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. This is an effort to create a small scale website to collect live timing data for club-level motorsports events, and provide real-time insights into the action, both for commentators—sometimes including myself—and for viewers. This includes data-driven stochastic projections of possible outcomes of endurance races. Data providers include RaceHero, Race Monitor, and iRacing.Through this small-scale site, deployed via Heroku, I've created a web-based broadcast overlay which is currently being used by Drivers Eye Live in broadcasts of World Racing League events. An earlier iteration of this, a Python script developed to output JSON data ingestible to vMix's native overlays, has been used extensively by Drivers Eye Live in the past and is in use by KartChaser.
