About Joseph Myer

Joseph F. Myer, CFP® - President, Chief Investment Officer I began my career as a Financial Advisor in In that time, I've helped clients navigate some of the most challenging markets in history. In 2021, I founded Courser Capital Management, LLC to serve clients as an Independent Financial Advisor. I spent nearly 21 years with two major Wall Street firms, most recently as a First Vice President at Merrill Lynch. Big banks have an agenda that can place their interests before the interests of clients and advisors. My focus is now be committed to serving the needs of my clients, and not checking "corporate boxes" or dealing with bureaucracy. To demonstrate my full appreciation for the important role a client's capital plays in their life plans, I always gain a complete understanding of a client's situation to develop a thoughtfully designed financial strategy. I am committed to continual professional growth. To that end, I earned a Master of Liberal Arts in Finance from Harvard University. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. I am a graduate of the University of Wyoming, and hold a Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University. I am a Past President of the Rotary Club of Frederick County; past President and Director of the Clarke County Education Foundation. I was a Board of Supervisors appointee to the Clarke County Sanitary Authority.
