About Joseph Parsons

I have an array of experience derived from over two decades of land surveying and civil engineering design in both Florida and Washington state. Having a strong background in land surveying has provided me with a sure foundation in civil design. My engineering design experience ranges from residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial developments, single family residences, and utility designs. My favorite aspect of civil design is meeting directly with clients, working together to establish their needs, preparing conceptual design plans that not only meet their needs, but designs that will fit within the allowable use of the land, and requirements of the jurisdictional authorities. Because the majority of my experience has been with smaller firms, I have had the opportunity to be involved with all aspects of the development process; from the initial meeting with a potential client, writing of proposals, coordinating of all required subconsultants, feasibility studies, concept planning, preparation of construction plan documents, and project management. Over the past 4 years, I have also been over the administrative responsibilities of both the civil and survey departments. I prepared job listings, and performed interviews of all potential hires for civil and survey CAD technician positions as well as all survey field positions. I was responsible for implementing and overseeing procedures and standards; coordinating internal project meetings, and CAD department meetings.
