About Joseph Phillips

Joe is the founder of The Walden Pond Group at Morgan Stanley in Boston. With over 40 years of direct experience in private wealth management*, The Walden Pond Group has worked with a wide variety of clients across multiple market cycles. Our clients are high net worth individuals, affluent families, and institutions, and we are well versed in a broad spectrum of financial issues, including portfolio management, asset allocation, retirement planning, and wealth preservation. In short, we offer broad experience, deep resources, and objective advice. Joe joined Morgan Stanley in 1998, and was a founding member of the Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management office in Boston in 2001. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Joe was a Senior Vice President at UBS and a Senior Vice President and Branch Manager in Lehman Brothers' San Francisco office. Joe is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and is a graduate of the Wharton School's Investment Consultant Program. As a Certified Financial Planner™, Joe brings a wealth of education and experience to client relationships. He holds Series 7, NYSE General Supervisor (Series 8), 63, and 31 licenses as well as life and health insurance licenses.
