About Joseph Ransdell
Research interests: Diseases of membrane excitability. I use electrophysiology and in vivo molecular genetic techniques to assess normal and aberrant functions of single neurons and neuronal circuits. My postdoctoral work was primarily focused on the regulation of sodium channels/currents and membrane excitability of cerebellar Purkinje neurons. My lab at Miami University is also focused on understanding how the regulation of neuronal excitability affects cerebellar function. Publications: Trained in the laboratories of Jeanne Nerbonne at Washington Unviersity and David Schulz at Mizzou.
