About Joseph Roberson

Dr. Joseph Roberson was born at the Indiana farm home of his parents. Christian values and faith were important elements in the Roberson family during his childhood, and are key components in the way he lives and works today. Married since 1972, he and his wife have four children and a growing number of grandchildren. The Robersons are active in their community and attend Trinity Bible Church. He earned a B.S. Degree in Education in 1976, and a M.S. Degree in Education in 1979, both from Indiana University, Southeast Campus. While working on his doctorate, he served as Clinic Coordinator at Indiana University's Institute for Child Study, a multidisciplinary training clinic. Training experiences were also gained at Indiana University's Developmental Training Center, and at the Community Mental Health Center in Bloomington, Indiana. His training specialties at Indiana University were in school psychology, counseling, and in clinical practice. Dissertation research was on Gender Schema Theory as a Factor in Children's Expressive Writing. In 1989 he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Psychology from Indiana University. Dr. Roberson is licensed by the Arizona State Board of Psychologist Examiners, and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). He is a member of the Arizona Psychological Association, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the Society for Christian Psychology within the American Association of Christian Counselors. He has public school experience in teaching, counseling, and school psychology, and has been in private practice since 1991.
