Always changing, always learning. Continuity is an art form all its own in radio and TV. Constantly changing ads to keeping the same rhetoric, I’ve seen and heard all kinds of ads in an ever-learning profession. Daily, for the entire Detroit market, I input advertisement copy, solve invoice discrepancies and troubleshoot any other problems that may arise in day-to-day radio life. Does a sales person need help tracking that spot/script for a client that ran two years ago? No problem! I’ll have a record of it. Whatever you need done from the creative department, I’ll be sure to follow up on so sales can focus on selling. Other responsibilities that come across my desk include providing daily/weekly Missing Copy reports so that Account execs can stay on top of their client’s creative needs. Pulling and reporting affidavit reports to confirm that our stations have fully complied with national contracts with Westwood One and other national entities. I’m always learning in the background, starting as a sales assistant and then moving into my current role. I make it a priority to learn as much as possible to be as helpful as possible to all coworkers. There are no shortcuts in the workplace. Come in, do the work, go above what’s asked and lead by example. Mottoes that I strive by not only in my professional life but outside work as well.
