About Joseph Sheldon

For almost 8 years, I served in the United States Navy as a Personnel Specialist and Non-Commissioned Officer. After leaving the Service, I began working in Human Resources at Koch Foods as an HR Assistant. I was quickly recruited by the company's IT Director to join the IT Department as an on-site technician for all locations within a 250 mile radius. This involved deskside technical help, production floor maintenance on machines, new-acquisition review and project management and low-voltage network installation, including data closets and wireless coverage. As an Epic Certified ECSA, I was responsible for the backend server management, product install, update/upgrade, integration and implementation of the regional hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In addition, I provided customer support to the medical staff using the EHR software, managed hardware placement in new acquisitions and collaborated with the other Epic teams. As the IT Director for the my church's Oregon Conference, I am responsible for IT/IS hardware and systems management, remote accessibility, user experience and all-things IT. I played an integral role in the transition for a traditional brick-and-mortar operation to a safe-at-home staff as well as in the execution of a completely "virtual" annual event that typical draws 4 to 5 thousand visitors on campus. I am currently working as an ECSA and Senior Systems Administrator. Over the last 3 years, I have been primarily responsible for maintaining and managing our Epic EHR environments, including a successful build and implementation of Epic Hyperdrive. I also manage our Citrix environment and other 3rd-party integrations within our Epic environment. I have a solid blend of both HR and IT experience, making customer care and user experience a top priority.
