As General Manager at Drive Project Management, I bring over 30 years of experience across the construction and project management sectors, working with commercial businesses, iwi, and community organisations to deliver complex projects. I began my career as a quantity surveyor in Auckland, which laid the foundation for my progression into project management and construction leadership. My journey took me to Sydney, where I played a key role in various construction projects for the Sydney Olympics, leading a division at the world’s largest project management and development company. Upon returning to New Zealand, I founded and grew my own commercial construction business over two decades, ultimately selling it to key staff before transitioning into consultancy for community-focused projects. I’m passionate about helping organisations bring their vision to life, particularly when projects seem difficult to get off the ground or face budget challenges. Whether working with commercial entities or iwi, my focus is on delivering projects that others may think are unattainable. I excel at maintaining team enthusiasm, overcoming roadblocks, and driving initiatives forward with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset. Building strong relationships is at the heart of my leadership style. I believe in understanding the people I work with, not just in a professional context, but by getting to know their personal goals and what motivates them. I’ve found that successful project management requires teamwork, collaboration, and getting everyone on board with a shared vision. Outside of work, I enjoy all types of saltwater fishing and golf. These hobbies offer me a great balance to the fast-paced nature of my work and allow me to recharge. I’m always open to new opportunities and collaborations.
