About Joseph Tokman

My journey into occupational therapy began with a personal experience during adolescence, where hand therapy after an injury ignited my fascination with rehabilitation sciences. This early exposure grew into a passion, leading me to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Development and Family Studies, and, currently, a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University. Throughout my academic and professional experiences, I’ve developed a strong focus on physical and neurological rehabilitation, especially in pediatrics. My clinical placements have allowed me to work with diverse populations, from young children in school-based settings to adults recovering from spinal cord and musculoskeletal injuries. These experiences have honed my skills in creative problem-solving, designing tailored interventions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient goals. I aim to contribute to the field of OT by advancing rehabilitation techniques and advocating for holistic care approaches. My career aspirations include specializing in physical and neurological rehabilitation while integrating innovative tools and evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes. With a strong foundation in therapy techniques and research and a deep commitment to patient-centered care, I am eager to connect, share knowledge, and contribute to the evolving field of occupational therapy.
